Themes for Round 1:
Time Travel and Parallel Universes: Journey through different eras or explore alternate realities. Mental Health and Psychological Triumphs: Perform introspective acts surrounding mental health issues. Virtual Reality: Investigate the societal impact of virtual reality technology. Comedy and Satire: Use humour to portray witty and satirical societal commentary. Social Media and Technology: Explore the influence of digital platforms on human interactions.
Structure
Round 1: Participants perform a scene based on pre-defined themes. Each team will have 6 to 15 minutes to present their act, with a buzzer reminder every 5 minutes to manage time.
Round 2 (Impromptu): Participants are given a scenario through a lucky draw and have 15 minutes to prepare their performance. The duration of the act is between 5 to 10 minutes. Extra time can be requested, but points will be deducted for extended preparation.
Rules
1. Adhere to the theme.
2. Acts presented should not be offensive or vulgar and it should follow the college decorum.
3. usage of harsh or foul languages are strictly prohibited.
4. Costumes used should be proper, non-offensive and non-revealing.
5. Props should be used with safety.
6. No property should be damaged.

What is the event about?
It is a theatre based event and is completely base on theatre arts.
What is the team size?
The minimum team size is 2 and maximum is 6.
Do we need to be present physically on the venue to participate?
Yes, for both the rounds participating team needs to be present physically on the venue. Although the inaugural ceremony will be online.
Will the participants receive certificates?
Yes, certificates will be provided for the participants of the event.
Who can participate in Spotlight?
Any student passionate about acting and theatre can participate, regardless of prior experience.
What types of performances are allowed?
Participants can perform anything from dramatic monologues to comedic sketches. Original scripts are encouraged but not mandatory.
How will the performances be judged?
Performances will be judged based on character development, emotional expression, scriptwriting, and audience engagement.
