About
AstralWeb Innovate is an 18-day online competition intended to provide a challenge for web developers and designers in creating innovative astronomy-based websites. Teams of 1-3 members can compete in rounds to demonstrate their skill level in front-end web design while enhancing knowledge about astronomical events and star patterns. The participants will have to submit an idea roadmap first and then later develop a working website. This competition is designed to cultivate creativity, technical competence and love for astronomy.
Structure
The competition will be held online and divided into three key rounds. In the first round, teams will submit a roadmap that outlines their concept and implementation plan, which will be evaluated on originality, feasibility, and potential impact. In the second round, participants will present their fully developed web pages, with judges assessing functionality, design, and innovation. The final round involves testing the submitted websites to examine their performance, usability, and overall quality. This stage will be overseen by a panel consisting of an astronomy expert and a web development specialist. Overall, the event offers an exciting opportunity for participants to combine their passion for astronomy with their web development skills, creating innovative digital platforms.
