
- AboutAstralweb Innovate is an online front-end web development competition taking place from 20th June to 7th July 2025. Centered around the theme “On This Day, But Make It Cosmic,” it challenges participants to build interactive, responsive webpages showcasing real astronomical events that occurred on the same calendar date in history. Spanning three rounds - idea submission, website development, and functionality testing—the event encourages originality, creativity, and technical precision. Participants may compete individually or in teams, with the best submissions judged on design, innovation, and performance.
The event aims to blend storytelling with science, allowing developers to present space history in an engaging digital form. It’s a unique opportunity to explore astronomy through code and design. - StructureAstralweb Innovate is structured into three progressive rounds that test creativity, technical skills, and implementation quality.
Round 1: Implementation Submission requires participants to submit a detailed document outlining their idea, technologies to be used, and a roadmap for development. This round emphasizes originality, feasibility, and impact.
Round 2 – Website Submission involves developing and submitting a fully functional, responsive website based on the proposed idea. The site must include at least one interactive element and be tested for cross-platform compatibility.
Round 3 – Functionality Checking is the final evaluation phase where the submitted websites undergo testing by front-end experts and astronomer for usability, performance, responsiveness, and the cosmology facts. No new submissions are required in this round. - Rules1. All submitted work must be original; plagiarism or use of copyrighted material/code without authorization will result in disqualification.
2. Submissions must adhere to the specified deadlines for each round; late submissions will not be accepted.
3. Round 2 requires a live website link and a public GitHub repository with a clear README file.
4. Submissions must follow the provided format and structure, especially in the Round 1 document and Round 2 website.
5. The organizing team holds the right to disqualify any participant for misconduct, guideline violations, or unethical actions.
6. All decisions made by the judging panel are final and cannot be challenged or appealed.
7. Incomplete or improperly formatted submissions may be disqualified without notice.
