FIESTA DE CODIGO
Celebrating the power of coding

- StructureRound 1: Blind Coding
With the onset of the event on Day 1 of the main days of Aaruush 23, The first round will be a Blind Coding Challenge. This round will check the participants' thorough knowledge in the field of coding. Each Registered Team will be a pair and will be given 4 problem statements/coding questions in this round and will be given a time constraint of 2 hours. They will first write the code of the solution in a paper/Google Document. After a time of 1.5 hours, they will be allowed to switch on the system and write the same code written on the paper in it. Next, they will compile the code and run it. The team with the least errors and correct problem statement solution will advance to the next round. If the team tries to change the code while typing and make it different from the one written in the paper will be penalized/disqualified. The selected teams as per the judging criteria will be selected for the next round on Day 2.
Round 2: Code Marathon
At the end of Round 1, the qualified teams advance to round 2 where each team will be given a set of problem statements containing programming questions from C++ and Python which they have to solve on their systems without errors. The objective of each team will be to attempt the maximum number of questions from the given set. The teams attempting and solving the maximum number of questions without errors will advance to Round 3. In case of any tie between teams with the same number of questions attempted, the teams with least number of errors will qualify for Round 3.
At the end of round 2 on Day 2, qualified teams will be shortlisted for Round 3 which is the final round. Next morning, On Day 3 the qualified pairs will be given a unique problem statement related to DSA. The teams will have to understand the problem statement, plan and then come up with the most optimal solution or algorithm for their assigned problem. Again the time constraint for solving the problem would be 2 hours which will be followed by code review. The total points in this round will be 50 distributed on parameters like presentation, code readability, cross questioning etc. In code review the teams will be asked to assess the code or the solution which they presented as the solution and justify the approach or the algorithm they used in their solution to be the most optimal and efficient. If a better and efficient approach will be present then the judges would give them a hint while cross questioning and then the participants have to try and come up with a response or solution for the new method as accurately as they can. The teams will be awarded 5/10 points for this part depending upon their accuracy and presentation of the new solution. - TimelineRegistration for the event will be done through the Aaruush website. Participants will have to participate in pairs of two. All the details regarding the event would be mailed to the participants. It will begin with an inauguration speech.
