Hack Summit 6.0 is a national-level hackathon hosted by Team Aaruush at SRMIST.
This 36-hour coding marathon is not just a competition – it is a catalyst for creativity, collaboration, and cutting-edge development.
Participants engage in rapid ideation, iterative prototyping, and solution-driven innovation across diverse domains. - Structure
Registrations for Hack Summit 6.0 open on 28th August and continue until 4th September, during which teams must submit their Round 1 presentations.
Shortlisted teams for the development phase (Round 2) will be announced on 5th September.
The coding phase begins on 6th September and concludes on 7th September. - Timeline
Round 1 – Idea Presentation
Each team will present their proposed idea via a PowerPoint presentation. Presentations will be evaluated by a panel of five impartial judges, selected and appointed by the sponsoring companies to ensure fairness and transparency.

Round 2 – Development Phase
Selected teams will begin project development, focusing initially on:
• Completing the frontend design and user interface
• Starting development on the backend and database integration
Judges will assess progress made. Based on these evaluations, top teams will be selected for the Final Round.
Final Round – Hackathon Showdown
The top 10 finalist teams will proceed to the final hackathon round. During this phase, teams will:
• Build a fully functional prototype
• Address real-world problem statements
• Demonstrate creativity, execution, and polish
Judging & Selection
• At every stage, judging will be conducted with full transparency by a neutral panel
• Clearly documented evaluation criteria for all rounds
• Top 10 teams will be chosen based on cumulative performance across all stages - Rules
Rules & Guidelines
• Teams must consist of a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 members.
• Teams must present their ideas in front of a panel of judges during the final presentations.
• PPT slides must not exceed more than 5 slides for shortlisting.
• Presentation runtime will be only 7 minutes per team.
• Ideas must be original and must not infringe on any intellectual property rights.
• All participants must adhere to the code of conduct and respect the rules of the event.
• Any participant found to be in violation of the rules will be disqualified from the event.
• The judges' decision will be final.
• The organisers reserve the right to make any changes to the event schedule or rules as necessary.
• Your idea should focus on innovation within the boundaries of any of the themes.
• The Internet can be used as a source of material and information regarding the topic in question.
• The judging shall be followed by a Q/A round where the judges will pose questions regarding the topic. All team members MUST participate in this session.
• At the beginning of the hackathon, the team leader must provide the GitHub link where all team members are added as collaborators. This repository will be used to judge contributions based on commits during the hackathon.

1. What is Hack Summit?
Ans. Hack Summit is a 36-hour national-level offline hackathon, organized by Aaruush at SRMIST, Kattankulathur. It brings together students from across India to develop innovative, tech-driven solutions across diverse problem statements.
2. Who can participate?
Ans. Any undergraduate or postgraduate student from any academic background is eligible. Participation is open to all institutes across India. You don’t need to be an SRMIST student.
3. What is the venue?
Ans. The venue for the event is Mini Hall 2.
4. How many members are allowed per team?
Ans. Teams can have 1 to 4 members.
5. Where is it held?
Ans. Hack Summit 2025 will take place offline at SRMIST, Kattankulathur. Participants must arrange their own travel. Detailed instructions will be shared with shortlisted teams.
6. Is there a registration fee?
Ans. No, registration is free. However, teams must submit a project idea (PPT) during registration. Shortlisting will be based on clarity, feasibility, and innovation.
7. What’s the prize pool?
Ans. The prize pool is Rs. 1,00,000.
8. Can we use AI tools or pretrained models?
Ans. Yes, you may use publicly available APIs, tools, and pretrained models. However, your project’s core logic must be developed during the hackathon.
9. What technologies can we use?
Ans. You are free to use any programming language, framework, or stack, as long as it is legal and publicly licensed.
10. Where will updates be posted?
Ans. Updates will be shared on our official website, Instagram, LinkedIn, and via email to registered participants.
11. Can we start working on our idea before the event?
Ans. No. While you can brainstorm and research beforehand, coding and implementation must begin only after the hackathon starts. Pre-built projects may lead to disqualification.
12. What are the judging criteria?
Ans. Judging criteria will be announced to participants during the hackathon, before the evaluation begins.
13. Can we change our team members after registration?
Ans. No, team members cannot be changed after confirmation. Exceptions may be considered in emergencies with approval from the organisers.
14. Will internet and power facilities be available at the venue?
Ans. Yes. Participants will have access to Wi-Fi, charging points, and designated working spaces on campus.
15. Can we pitch a solution in a different domain than the one submitted?
Ans. No. Teams must work on the idea submitted during registration. Switching domains or project topics after shortlisting is not permitted.
16. Will food be provided during the hackathon?
Ans. Yes. Meals and refreshments will be provided free of cost to all registered participants throughout the event.
17. Do we need to bring any ID proof?
Ans. Yes. Participants must carry a valid student ID card along with a government-issued ID for verification.
