- AboutRoboleague is an exciting robot football tournament where teams remotely control wheeled robots on a custom-designed field to score goals using a specially crafted ball. The event blends strategy, teamwork, and technical skills, bringing together robotics and sports in a thrilling competition. Participants from various institutions will compete to showcase their innovation and control over their robots, combining the excitement of football with cutting-edge technology. The event, hosted by Team Aaruush, highlights the potential of robotics in recreational activities, fostering creativity and collaboration among students and tech enthusiasts.
- RulesTEAM MEMBERS & MENTORS:
1) Number of participants in a team will be up to 8.
2) Each team must have a captain(a student). The captain is the person responsible for communication with referees.
3) Teams must make their own robots, They can’t use another team’s robots.
4) It should not be a ready made or Lego kit robot.
5) Team can have a coach as technical advisor, But it’s not mandatory to have a coach.
ROLE OF A COACH:
1) THE TEAM CAN HAVE A COACH AS TECHNICAL ADVISOR, BUT IT’S NOT MANDATORY TO HAVE COACH.
2) The coach here will be the official mentor of the team , he/she can provide technical support to the team to make the robot.
3) The coach can train the team to participate in the competition.
4) In the time of the event the coach is not allowed to help the team in any aspect, be it repairing, programming, strategy discussion etc.
5) The coach should not be involved in any kind of discussion during the event with the team.
6) In the time of the event the coach is only allowed to supervise the event, not more than that.
FAIR PLAY:
1) Robots that cause deliberate interference with other robots or damage to the field will be disqualified.
2) Humans that cause deliberate interference with robots or damage to the field will be disqualified.
3) It is expected that the aim of all teams is to play a fair and clean game.
BEHAVIOR:
1) Participants who misbehave may be asked to leave the competition area and risk being disqualified from the contest.
2) The rules will be enforced at the discretion of the referees.
3) The participating team should follow the code of conduct of SRM Institute of Science and Technology.
JUDGING CRITERIA:
1) All the teams must adhere to the specification of the robot, failing in that leads to disqualification.
2) The team will be getting the points for the goals they are putting up in the final round based on the points winner will be decided.
3) If there are an odd number of teams, the last team will play the game with any of the previously played teams and the points will be considered only for the newly playing team, not for the team which played before.
4) The winner and runner-up will be chosen based on the sum of points.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1) The robot participating in the event can be wired/wireless and must be remotely controlled.
2) All the robots will be tested before letting them into the game to verify whether the specification of the robot is within the scope of the given specification.
3) Limiting dimensions are 30cm x 30cm x 30cm max.
4) There shouldn’t be any grab mechanism in RC cars.
5) A small ledge-like structure in the front of the robot should be there. Again the depth of that shall not be more than 3 cm and length of 15 cm.
6) The ledge should not be actuated by any means, it is only meant to push the ball by moving the robot.
7) Robots must be made of Acrylic, Wood or using any metallic material. Robots can be made with other light materials that are not harmful for other participating bots and are also admissible but that shall be checked at the time of the tournament.
8) The robot mechanism should not damage the arena.
Radio systems MUST NOT cause interference to other radio-frequency users.
9) The length of the wire (for wired bots) should be long enough (6-8 meters approx.) to cover the whole field and wire should remain slacked during the run across the field. 10) Participants must arrange their own batteries.
11) Maximum weight – Not more than 4 kgs(including on board battery), However, a tolerance of 5% (+200g or -200g) will be acceptable.
12) Only electrically powered Robots will be allowed in the event.
Batteries must be sealed, immobilized electrolyte type (gel cell, lithium, NiCad, or dry cells)
13)The electric voltage anywhere in the machine should not be more than 12V DC at any point of time for each robot.
14) The battery should be only on board.
15) With the help of weight Teams are going to play against each other to give fair play. - FAQ
1. Who can participate in Roboleague?
Ans: School students, College students and People who are interested in robotics.
2. Will participants receive certificates of participation?
Ans: Yes, certificates of participation will not be provided.
3. Do participants need to participate in a team or individually?
Ans: Participants can compete either individually or in teams of up to 8 members.
4. Can participants compete individually or do they need to be part of a team?
Participants may compete individually or as part of a team, with teams consisting of up to 8 members.
